Here you can see the artistic process of three graphic novels and a video game I'm working on: CAPTOR, SEVEN, AUTUMN [collaboration with Dylan Andrejic], and SWEET SCREAMS [collaboration with Jae Camedon].

12/16 - 12/22

Excuse blogging: Homecoming concert on Friday

REFLECTION: This week on what I learned through my own comic: It is really hard to draw someone with no nose and one eye. Like it's very difficult to make their face look actually humanoid. Especially at different angles than completely forward or at a 45 degree angle of the sort left or right. Also I seem to enjoy action-y panels such as pg123 I believe that is shown? Much fun. On top of drawing these pages I've mapped out the update speed in correlation with a calendar and when I'll take a month or so hiatus in light of mainstage because of how hectic it gets. I'm safe whichever move I make but I got a pretty clear path in mind on how I'm gonna handle the uploads prior to my personal break.

AOG: On task - Rehearsals were canceled all last week and I wasn't on the email so I found out last minute, but that's chill because each night I was able to accomplish one page for CAPTOR which is what my goal remains at. Apperantly there may be a switch around with which plays are being produced in the show, actors, the dates, and locations and all. It's all on the fence from what I hear, but that's fine. Along more so with CAPTOR there are now 13/33 pages outlined. Doing a good speed.

12/9 - 12/15

Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday I went to Senior Showcase rehearsal. Tuesday we didn't have school due to weather conditions. Worked on more costumes for Swagspeare and started costume plates for FrankenDoll. Coming along at a good pace, but Swagspeare is the one I'm like dying over. 56 characters.

For Friday [and Tuesday as well, because I figured better safe than sorry for doing the two days I didn't have rehearsal] I worked on more CAPTOR pages.

AOG: 9/33 pages [excluding end of chapter page] are outlined. I don't have a solid plan asides get at least one page outlined per week so far because of Senior Showcase. But sticking to that so far - it's going good.

REFLECTION: The only trouble I've run into is trying to draw my cyclops looking character, Ivan, over and over again because he lacks a nose. But that's within the art itself and has an easy solution. Sometimes even writing the text for the third time causes frustration, but again, they're really easy fixes that take less than five seconds. Ctrl+Z is the best tool there is. When Senior Showcase ends [if it does during the marking period] I'll formulate a bigger weekly goal to match the overall goal. Might bump myself to do two pages per week and work 45/60 minutes instead of the 30.

On the fun fact side, CAPTOR turns 1 year old tomorrow, 12/16!!! How wonderful.

12/2 - 12/8

Excused blogging: Life Drawing class at duCret Wednesday the 4th

REFLECTION: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday I was at rehearsal for senior showcase and worked more on the costumes. Franken Doll costumes are pretty set and I'm going to do plates next week and see what I can scavenge for physical costume. Swagspeare on the other hand is coming along very slowly. There are 56 characters and the script keeps changing.

For Friday's blog I worked on CAPTOR - thus my decision for my second part of blogs, if I ever miss a rehearsal/it's canceled, I have this to do. The entire goal is to finish CH5 by the end of MP1 on top of work on Senior Showcase.

DOCUMENTATION: So for Friday's 30 minutes I did this [outlined the page/wrote the text/whited the bubbles]:

AOG: It's really hard to do an assessment for CAPTOR because it's random? But I suppose I'm doing well. Takes about 30 minutes to outline one singular page [shown above] that, in pixels, is about 8.5/11 inches. For Senior Showcase, AOG is shown in rehearsal reports. I do need to start adding pictures of costume sketches in on my blogs because I keep forgetting [but I'll go back later and add them in].

11/25 - 12/1

Two full days and a half-day

Monday and Tuesday I was at two rehearsals for Senior Showcase [proof in emails]. I'll go back to this post and add in the pictures of the costumes I worked on for the Franken Doll one - for Swagspeare we just conversated and I'll be working on those in next weeks blog entry.

I'm also battling myself on what I want my other goal to be. Either work on CH5 of CAPTOR or, since I did this today, go outside and sketch nature/buildings. I honestly think it'll help, not only my comics, but the morning D&P project anyway as I'm doing perspective drawings. I might combined all three. Maybe? I did one building sketch, timed at 1 hour 40 minutes. [Photo was edited on instagram- for blog presentations of MP2 I'll have my actual sketchbook with me].

Location: Dunellen - World Gym

We weren't supposed to blog during break, but I took the opportunity to do so anyway because I'm still struggling with deciding on a solid goal. As of now, three are in my head, and it might over work me a bit. Thus I haven't written AOG or REFLECTION yet. These small paragraphs basically are both - me contemplating which to pick. I'll make up my mind by next week and blogs will go back to their normal format of documentation, aog, and reflection.
