Back to work. And of course it's gotta be a panel with the thing I hate the most: making straight lines for scythes. Here's a bonus picture of a creature you'll see eventually.
Here you can see the artistic process of three graphic novels and a video game I'm working on: CAPTOR, SEVEN, AUTUMN [collaboration with Dylan Andrejic], and SWEET SCREAMS [collaboration with Jae Camedon].

CAPTOR [54]
So I did it. I decided, you know what, instead of taking the story from my head and inputting the text right when I draw it, why not type up the scripts from now on? So I did CH2 today.
CAPTOR [53]
Check, page 11! You go Azel. Get that Sabueso. You deserve your own page. Look at you go.
Asides that, I put up this little teaser from a character no many have really seen, and you won't see till a lot later in the comic:

CAPTOR [52]
I finished page ten and sent them all to Jae for uploading and now I feel accomplished I got this much done today.
Go read up guys! We've now come up with a schedule. Cold Blue will update every Friday and Captor will update every Sunday, at least one page each update. Maybe more! [Yeah probably just one page]
CAPTOR [50]
50TH POST FOR CAPTOR and thus we celebrate with a panel of Rob and hot coco.
And then he shall not return for another 12 pages.
CAPTOR [48]
Okay, page six down. Luckily, color will start to show up more instead of having this pretty grim looking black/grey look to it. That's mainly because a new character being introduced on the next page is bright red. But also the plot takes the three outside. With trees. Which are green.
Yeah, color.
CAPTOR [47]
The answer is no. I shall outline the trees. Now since I outlined all five pages time to color them. I'm unsure how many I can get done. I have about five hours left before I should go to bed...
CAPTOR [46]
I kind of want to do the outside of Leben lineless color. Ideas to come back to...
CAPTOR [45]
Getting there. I sometimes have fits with Abigale's face. I don't know what it is, but hers pisses me off the most when I try drawing it. Might just be the structure and the angels I chose. But I get it eventually, even though it takes up some time.
Ah and also the first example of sign language! If you nod your fist twice it means "Yes." I'll put small captions under any sign language so people know what it is, but here on the blog I'll explain the action more also.
This comic will teach you some sign language and German. You're welcome.
CAPTOR [44]
This is still one of my favorite pages. Not because Zane's height is constantly made fun of throughout the comic, but his expressions are the best. And Azel is a huge cutie who, you'll eventually find out, does sign language. He's not deaf, just mute.
That's a check on page seven outline. ONWARD VAGABOND.
CAPTOR [43]
Now today I'm gonna spend time trying to grind out pages. My goal originally was get to page ten, then I realized I woke up at 11:30 and it's Sunday. So that probably won't happen. But I'm at least going to outline them up to ten and try to finish page six for it to be upload-able.

AUTUMN [8]
The finalized site preview. It won't become an actual site until I finish the first chapter of Captor, or more. Around March, I put myself at a deadline to then get Autumn rolling as well, since I want Captor to have enough traction. I want to get enough pages done to have a weekly update, and I might start off Autumn with one page every four days. Something like that. But that was the agreement I made with Jae, who will end up doing the coding for the website [and I thank zem so much].
Here's a promotional banner I made feature a portion from a page of the actual comic:
CAPTOR [42]
I spent time editing the text for Captor's side bars. And I also made a new icon to update the one I had in place of it until I actually made a decent one.
Author:
Riley Levi Stein is a visual artist that attends a Vo Tech high school. His passion is graphic novels and comic making; however, he's still experimenting throughout the field of visual arts. Stein currently does not have a job, that is, asides from being "self employed." He strictly works on his comics and other art. Captor is his first public production that he quotes, "might not burn down with the rest of my web comic attempts." He also documented saying that he doesn't always talk in third person like this, but it may come off as more professional.
About:
Captor is an odd story revolving around Robbert Grimm. Known as the only human in the realm called Leben, he's surrounded by supernatural like creatures: Leben's largest beast and three human-looking reapers ended up being his co-workers though. Reapers jobs in the realm include checking population charts regarding Leben's creatures. If overpopulation occurs, the reapers go out and "reap" them. If slain, the creature dissolves into thin air, but leaves behind its own soul. Reapers then collect this and seal it away in a bag before it makes too long contact with the dense air. The souls are then brought back to the facility [which happens to be the only planet on Leben] and dumped into a container leading to Rob's room. There, he organizes the souls via species, age, etc. If population drops, Rob puts the souls in a machine that then sends them back out into Leben during that creature's mating season, causing them to be reborn. Eventually, Rob is unable to do his job due to his mental state, and havoc breaks out. Leben becomes devastated due to overpopulation and under population, cannibalism, and civil war among creatures. The reapers try to fix it, but they end up getting mixed up in it instead. People are hurt, creatures damage nature and each other, and all goes to shit. And it's all thanks to one hyper, sadistic, brunette asshole in suspenders.
Characters [basic information]:
Robbert Grimm: The Captor. Human. Actually 28, appears 22. Approximately 6'0".
Abigale Wright: Reaper. Humanoid. Actually 26, appears 21. Stands at 5'6".
Zane Blake: Reaper/Demon. Approximately 3,000 years old, appears as 26. Stands at 5'0".
Xavier Kidasimo: Reaper/Nightmare. Age unknown, appears as 30. Stands at 7'2".
Azel: Leben's largest beast. Unknown species. Unknown age, however, estimated to be 16 human years. Stands at 7'0" and is 4'0" when on all fours.

AUTUMN [7]
This is where a bulk of the work comes in, pre-comic. Before even finalizing pages, I'm supposed to design the page for it when it airs on QFG. It's rough. And brutal. Yet it's fun. Peaceful yet irritating. For CAPTOR, I kept it simple - white with some red, some black lettering, and the logo. AUTUMN is more complicated. Actual background, browns/pinks/whites/fall-colors everywhere, no mercy on the coder [sorry Jae]. It's not done as I don't know yet what Dylan wants for a logo for this one, but I was thinking just cool looking letters - no actual symbol like CAPTOR's is a soul. But yeah. So far this progress had dented the hour and a half mark, so I decided to pull it back up today and show its progress so far. I'm pretty proud of it so far [so many layers though...].
AUTUMN [6]
As of this post, there are 10 sketched pages [five of which are fully outlined as such]. Text will be added last in PS by Dylan, because we want it to look SUPER DUPER neat. Plus, he just got the program, so why not? Here are two teasers I've posted on my tumblr. You can now see where my checklist is really accurate, and thus, really disturbing.
Outlining one page takes anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and a half...
AUTUMN [5]
"Let do it right now, just, on a whim, just draw the panels, go!"
Yeah.
Bad idea.
This page is going nowhere. Originally it was meant to be the first page, having the two main characters interact at the get-go [gecko? I don't know] and branch from there. But. That's screaming "romantic comedy." Even though that's what it might lead to if we get cliche enough...
As some information, the main characters are Chloe Winter and Riley Stein. Sound familiar? They should be if you guys reading also keep up with the CORRUPTION blog I have linked on the side. In CORRUPTION, they're one of the only existing couples [as of now] and are constantly kicking ass together. In this comic however, we altered their stories and now made them both Europeans attending the same college in Seoul, South Korea. Chloe is from France and Riley, from Germany. This explains the "desole" and "was?" Desole is French for "sorry," if my memory serves, and "was" is German for "what." In the comic there will be some foreign language, but it'll be noted. CAPTOR has a bunch of German in it, but it'll be noted. And one way or another, I'm throwing in foreign languages into CORRUPTION, because it makes it seem more... fun? I don't know the proper word for that, but I enjoy adding in that little flavor of dialogue.
AUTUMN [4]
We eventually realized how big and out of control Corruption was [our other collaborative comic] and decided it would be nice to step away from all the supernatural and fiction and pull back, take a step into the more realistic world, and see how it worked out. So that was the approach we decided to go for with this one. However, we are still keeping a technology portion to it, considering the amount of electronics the majority of the world now holds and the things people can do with it, calls for some scenarios that are realistic, yet have not happened yet [thankfully]. In summary, we're keeping computer avatars, similar to that of Facebook or Twitter [and the avatar kind of having its own actions, more so like a virtual pet]. Plus, the main characters are freshmen in college, so how would they even survive their first term without wanting to escape for a little bit on the internet before tearing their brain cells out and dipping them in acid before diving into more studies.
AUTUMN [3]
There were also two other characters that were designed for this, one of which was referred to as Klein [which is German for SMALL]. [The other character serves of no importance, nor got approval to be in any concept comics] His computer icon was meant to be a baby pig, and his accounts were supposed to be hacked [similar to that of many people on Facebook recently] and his avatar was to hack other accounts. However, "hack" has several meanings.
AUTUMN [2]
The concept designs for virtual characters that were finalized and fleshed out in the previous image.
AUTUMN [1]
I decided to combine this blog about Captor with another comic that will be on QFG soon. Its current title is Autumn, and it will most likely stay as such [though we're still bickering back and forth to keep it or at least lengthen it]. A little history behind this comic is that the idea originally was so cliche we [Dylan Andrejic and myself] ended up tossing it and leaving it in the dirt for a month before other ideas struck us for a new comic, but we decided, "Why not morph all of them together to one?" And thus we did.
Cartoons? Check.
Science? Check.
Accents and foreign language? Check.
Reuse of characters from our other collaborative comic? Check.
Violence? Check.
McDonalds? Check.
Real life situations in an air port that you DON'T brag about on Facebook? Check.
If none of those make sense... they will [or never, even I don't understand half the crap that this comic is gonna be asides from the fact it's probably best filed under COMEDY].
