Here you can see the artistic process of three graphic novels and a video game I'm working on: CAPTOR, SEVEN, AUTUMN [collaboration with Dylan Andrejic], and SWEET SCREAMS [collaboration with Jae Camedon].

CAPTOR [41]

I finished coloring these Thursday, but never got around to taking screen shots and blogging about it. The mistake I made in my mind was thinking that page four was going to be easier to color than page five. I ended up realizing that I was wrong once I got to the last panel where I had to take about seven layers of my line art and organizing it pretty much similar in the coloring stage. Never. Again. [Or until there's another page with a shot of The Machine.]

But yes, Zane gets introduced soon, as does Azel. EXCITEMENT. [Jae is the only other person that understands how excited I am about my own comic, because Jae feels the same about Cold, Blue.]

CAPTOR [40]

And now the line art for page five is finished. Woo. I'm not uploading in bulk on Captor due to a few things. 1. I went outside during this vacation [I did not like it]. 2. I'm in the "I hate everything" stage and I keep getting mad at my own art and yelling at my computer in a foreign language, which confuses my parents if I'm mentally insane or this is how normal artist behave. 3. Too many comics. As a list, just because I want to list them: Captor, Marzipan, Interlocked [collaboration with Jae Camedon], Method to Madness [collaboration with Dylan Andrejic], a possible new and unnamed comic, also with Dylan [it might be a flunk already], Coffee at Noon, and I'm pretty sure I'm missing something here. But I've been working on all of them. Yet I have too many blogs as is. I need to focus on one thing. Become consistent.

Now to go color page four and five and put them up. I really want to do this before tomorrow [hey self, saying you want something does not mean it will come true - now stop typing and wasting time].

CAPTOR [39]

I decided since I still had some details on page four to battle with [I'm very knit-picky when it comes to it], that I should go ahead and start lining page five. Which I kind of did. But I did that yesterday. Because this post got delayed because my mother ended up using the computer instead. It's a shared desktop and all, so, yeah. Not much to elaborate? ALTHOUGH! PAGE FIVE. NEW CHARACTER. No one is excited because no one reads this blog, huh. Or maybe people do. But for the past few months I imagine it's just me. I am a lonely person.

CAPTOR [38]

Christmas? More like this is the first time that your collaborator for a seprate comic was like, "I can give you the next two days off from ours if you want," which translates you, "you haven't finished a page of Captor for a while because you're always tired when you get home," which means "WORK ON THINGS MORE BEFORE HE COMES BACK." WIP of page four. Woo.

CAPTOR [37]

The official Captor teaser! Although there are already three pages up, I figure I would make a teaser for the entire comic anyhow instead of just chapter one. This took a short amount of time - about thirty or forty five minutes - due to being able to recycle three of the four images in and and just changing a few things to make it look pretty decent. If you've read the three pages already, you'd understand what the German means without even having to translate it. But I'll give it to you. It's the first line of the entire comic, and holds a special meaning. Thus, it's on the teaser. That is all.

CAPTOR [36]

And now we're back to the literal drawing boards where we have to outline and color everything. Publicly there are two pages of Captor up and three of Cold Blue. I have more sketched than Jae though, and we totally lacked on our due date for today to have five done, so I'm gonna hustle myself to get as many done today as I can plus distractions. I started like self promoting a bit in person by telling some of my friends that my website is up and shared the url with one or two people already. There's a couple readers for each comic already and I'm sure I already have like ten fans which is pretty damn good for me. I'm enjoying myself, that's all that matters.

CAPTOR [35]

Finally page two is up on the site! Once I have uploaded five pictures [before this Saturday] I'll publicly post the website anywhere. With two pages, some people already found the website [pretty easy since the URL is in the screen shot here] and read the first two pages and are already fans. I spent a good half an hour yesterday night hysterically laughing [not crying] that Jae and I already have fans and we barely have any material out. It's good to know there are instant supporters of ours, other than friends. We hope the site continues to update properly and we're able to please our audiences.

And yes the site icon you'll see on your browser, is indeed, a watermelon. There's a whole story behind it.

CAPTOR [34]

And now I get that refreshment that I can see the first page of CAPTOR up on its rightful page. Looking all nice and professional. Now I just have to whip my own ass to get the chapter done. I'll follow up this post with WIP shots of the current pages I'm working on. It's a slow, horrid process, but I'm starting to dig through. The excitement in me is just killing me right now, and I can't wait till I'm flowing with it. I'm apprehensive though, because I'll talk to myself saying, "You should be so much farther ahead," but then I realize I am overloading myself with two graphic novels and it makes sense then. But don't worry about that - enjoy.

CAPTOR [33]

Here's a current screen shot of our website. Again, it's not up, since we're having a little trouble with domain, but hopefully Jae, who is basically leading the operation of the creation of the site with me just designing, will be able to come up with a solution. I'm giving a bit of insight, but we're unsure if it'll actually work or not. The problem we're currently having on top of that is that we won't be able to actually wire the proper account till each comic has five pages done. I've been working back and forth on CAPTOR and IMMORTALITY, trying to balance a few things, but I want to pick up my pace by altering days for each and staggering my actual work. I might even take more days dividing hours by which I do. More meetings between Jae and I, and more between Dylan and I are defiantly things I want to fit into my schedule. Overall, I'm excited for the three of us ten fold. Three graphic novels at once is gonna be a bitch and a half though.
