CAPTOR [12]

media: digital - paint tool sai/bamboo capture

The only female in Captor! Well, asides from any species that has females. She tends to kind of lead the group of four [herself and the other three previously posted] while working on the job. However, it really is Xavier who holds the higher power, but his immaturity, which shows 97% of the time [percentage exaggerated and not exact; twas sarcastic] disables him from really giving orders as well as Abigale. She dislikes being touched by anyone, especially Xavier who is pretty creepy when it comes to it, and prefers her own personal space. Her room therefore it pretty open and she's anal about where things are placed - basically, feng shui. She gets strict at times, but if someone is feeling down, or just needs some sort of help, she becomes easily sympathetic, but not in the nicest way. A lot of the time she's rude and blunt, but she still helps out a lot.

CAPTOR [11]

media: digital - paint tool sai/bamboo capture

Xavier Kidasimo. The main point of comic relief from the plot that a lot of the time gets pretty damn serious. He keeps his identity of being one of the four Horsemen a secret the entire time, and instead refers to himself as the Grim Reaper [which is basically the same thing, but doesn't reveal his part-god attributes he keeps to himself]. The weapon he uses is a scythe that has a blade that is silver and blue and has a blinking eye on it. It stands taller than him. Xavier is the funny-man, where as he annoys all the other characters a lot, makes funny insults, and overall is a character that could go 50/50 - either you'll absolutely love him or absolutely hate him. He originally comes from the Nightmare Realm, and just like Zane, transports a lot between the land that contains the Captor and Hell often, but he does contribute to balancing the ecosystem with the others.

Full design for Azel. At least in his first form. Not to spoil, but at one point he changes physically for a portion of time, but that'll be kept to myself! He's the muscle of the group who's weapon is himself - he uses no hand weapons or anything, asides his own hands. He really does enjoy his job, which is stabilizing the environment with the other reapers, but other parts of the day such as the daily argument between Zane and Rob, he dislikes. He's the big sweet heart of the mix, but if his patience is drawn he can flip that switch really easily. He's not one to mess with when pissed. His favorite person is Abigale, due to her being so nice to him and the one who hired him, but she's also the one who treats him to sweets everything he does well on the job.

CAPTOR [9]

media: digital - paint tool sai/bamboo capture

Full design for Zane Blake. He's a demon who goes from the world where the Captor lies and Earth's so called "Hell." He tries his hardest to keep away from the secondary realm and tries keeping to Hell instead. His hate for one of his co-workers, Robbert Grimm, is beyond the point of rage. He has literally been waiting for the one point where no one is watching to drive his fist through Rob's face. The two conflict back and forth often, however with the other characters, Zane is perfectly fine and acts like himself. He's more so an inspector than anything and rarely does he help the reapers. Sometimes his higher up, Xavier, demands him to help, but a lot of the time Xavier is laid back and lets him leave instead. Zane's title is known as manager, since he checks on everyone and makes sure everything is functioning properly and going accord to unwritten plan, which in retrospect is his own plans in his head.

CAPTOR [8]

media: digital - paint tool sai/bamboo capture

As a little introduction before uploading their actual sketched character pages [that I will eventually do digitally and make them look prettier], I figured a little teaser would do well. Of course just doodles, but they're still helpful. I tried to make them individualized, especially for this comic because there's only five characters that have roles that are more than ten lines. Therefore I'm trying my best to make the body types different and having their faces different from one another. Making it more vast, you could say. Not much to reflect on this asides the point that the comic is probably going to be in black and white [meaning I'm just doing outlines instead of coloring it in afterwards], so I sometimes question why I care for color...

As a bonus, here are their body types I did earlier in the summer, same media as above:

CAPTOR [7]

I know it's supposed to be 20-30 minutes per day, but I really lost track of time. Today was a bit different from every other day. Instead of designing, I decided to actually work a bit on the plot and copy down some notes I had on this blog previously. This way I can keep myself more organized instead of being all over the place. However, since I had finished designing all the creatures and tried to describe them as best I could without spoiling anything in the comic, the next thing to come are the fine main characters that appear more human like. I mean asides that one character is a demon, another has longer animal-like ears and a tail, one is a mutant, and THEN there are two characters that look pretty human-like...you get the jist. But yeah, just a bunch of writing. The actual files are much longer and I haven't really re-read anything over yet, but there's always tomorrow for going back and correcting myself before publishing any of the files anywhere.

CAPTOR [6]

Probably the last creature I'll post up, because there are only three species that really show out in Captor. The rest are just background space, really. Sabue is the name of these, which is a short version of the word sabueso. Their head is supposed to be similar to that of a grey hound and therefore their anatomy is pretty much canine. I tried mapping out the skeleton and majority of the organs in pictures above to show the difference in placement. Sabues tails have hidden teeth that help them capture prey and hold other creatures down, or even just for moving wood or other objects in nature that are in their way. It tends to come in handy. They have four eyes, the main two, where they should be on a canine, are for basic sight. The other two are for underwater, as they have a special lens just like alligators and crocodiles. Which brings to the fact that they do swim - most of their prey is common animals like fish or birds, but if a Sabue is big enough and hunting for their family pack they'll try to go after Inus. Only Alpha Sabues can speak, however, similarly to only the Inu Ancestor can speak. Norns however can all speak.

CAPTOR [5]

Norns are a really odd species. A lot is written in the picture, as it normally has been for the past week every time I show a traditional piece. But like said in the text, Norns are pretty rare creature, referring to their diet of another creature's life force/soul. Easy way to specify whether the Norn has more than one soul carrying around in it's shadows, as it's called, is if their shadowy figure starts getting rigged and kind of looks like torn fabric, like the two drawn at the bottom. Of course Norns get weaker after collecting so many souls, and at that point it's the reapers job to find them and knock them off with their weapons and send the souls back to Rob at the plant. There, depending on how long the Norn had the souls depends on how many souls were converted to Norn and how many stayed as the original creatures the Norn had stolen. From there, it's Rob's job to figure out whether to send them back out or mark them as unacceptable.

As a little bonus, here's the first picture I've ever drawn with a Norn in it.

CAPTOR [4]

media: gel pen

As promised, a comparison sheet for common Inus and the Inu Ancestor, Ivan. On the picture it's listed the different kind of visuals that are different between the two. Both do indeed have cyclops eyes, showing clearly that the species only has one eye, and both do have qualities visible of a chicken or some sort of bird. And though their hands are human looking, they are still similar to lions paws. Both have lion-like, or generally feline, teeth, but the difference is Ivan has his mouth on his face whereas common Inus have them on their chests. Another big differences is their legs -  Inus have chicken like legs that bend back oddly, but they use them in advantage for running fast away from larger creatures. Their tails are also different. Common Inus have tails that look similar to most dogs, whereas Ivan has what is referred to as a parasite as a tail. The species of that certain parasite is unnamed and nearly extinct. They live off of energy, and clinging onto a creature that lives for a long time, such as an ancestor of a species, is one of the best possibilities. The parasite is grey and has taken enough energy from Ivan to turn his hair silver/grey as well.

CAPTOR [3]

media: gel pen and colored pencils

One thing I do that a lot of my friends don't do in conversations is stay on one topic. Everyone switches back and forth between stupid thoughts and laughs at everything, but I enjoy getting one subject done at a time. And thus it leads to the continuation of the Inu species. The Inu Ancestor, who goes by Ivan, is actually one of the characters that shows up in pretty much every one of my comics, so I guess you could say he's like my little watermark or trademark that he's there, and I had written [more so in my head] and drawn that. But anyhow, I didn't get as much done today as I did yesterday, but that's what notes to myself are for. I'll write it down later, but for now typing is good enough for me to go back and recheck my notes. Ivan's diet  is different from common Inus; common Inus tend to eat fruits and sometimes smaller animals than themselves, but not much meat, whereas Ivan who is bigger in size compared to the common Inu, actually tends to harvest live chickens or hens and other live stock and raise them himself [naturally, no drugs]. And then when they're big enough and he doesn't need them anymore - as the Red Queen would say - off with their heads!
I'll put out a comparison sheet between a common Inu and Ivan in the following days as I dwell deeper into my own, crazy mind, because having a visual reference may be easier to understand than me just saying so.

CAPTOR [2]

media: gel pen

In Captor there are a lot of...well, non human species. I plan to have at least six full and detailed creature designs done, and possibly just sketches of others that I can toss into the background and keep the outside setting of the comic look interesting, especially when it takes place at night. Inus are the main creature that's seen, and the reason for this is is due to the ability that these creatures hold - they are of the few bipedal animals, and nonetheless, they can kind of mumble their own language, but their Inu Ancestor, whom is still alive, has the ability to speak the same language as the main characters, and therefore annoys the ever living hell out of them throughout the length of the comic. Though I don't have a drawn up sheet for him yet, a lot of  friends who saw my little 'chose your own adventure' book titled, "Home," know the Inu Ancestor to be Ivan! I'm not going to go in depth on Inus ask there's a lot of explanation on their functioning and design above.

CAPTOR [1]

My first monthly project, I'd enjoy most to focus on one of my current comics called Captor. I'm setting up a conjoined website with a friend from a different school [South Plainfield High School] where it features the comics we do [Note to self: Talk to Jae more about the site and when we'll be launching the domain to the public]. Though I still want to work on designs for the actual site with her, what I mainly want to focus on is concepting/designing characters, monsters, and set for the comic. I also plan to research further into topics that I'm going to incorporate in the plot and therefore go off that and evolve the comic even more. Once I start putting out pages to it, though I'm unsure of when to plot a date for that yet [depending on how fast I get through finalizing characters and such], but once pages are out I'll post the link to it on my facebook and whatever social media site I also have. This will focus more on a ton of work-in-progress [WIP, I use the the acronym a lot] and what not. Majority of the project concepts and such will be done digitally, but there are first-hand designs that will be on paper, so there will be a mix of media.

Yeah that's all. I'm going to end up getting too wordy and accidentally spoil one of my comics.
